Bull Creek Residence

Located in the picturesque Allandale Neighborhood of Austin, this residential site is dotted with mature pecans that evoke the site’s riparian context. The proposed modern residence is nestled between them, massed to create a variety of outdoor rooms.

The proposed site design emphasizes the concept of the outdoor room. At first approach, visitors and passersby are offered a minimal, xeric composition with peek-a-boo moments of the lush fern garden beyond.

Planting within the fern garden is flowing and organic, with focus on the entry water feature and the site’s majestic trees. A garden path leads visitors to a private terrace at the guest wing, which overlooks a lushly planted rain garden.

Inside the home, views extend through the house to the verdant woodland garden at the back, and open onto the crisp and serene pool terrace.
